Humane Society

Yesterday, I had an assignment to go photograph the Humane Society. They had found a “breeder” that had 50 dogs that needed to be taken care of. Well, 50 turned into over 130 and I do mean over…It could be up to over 150. Apparently these dogs were kept in shitty cages without food or water and were covered in fleas. I got some good moments with volunteers laughing and smiling at the dogs and puppies, but then I saw this guy and thought that this would better help tell the story. I’m really gonna fight hard for this to run over the others. The volunteers also said they found a dog that had gotten all of its legs chewed off. I’m gonna call them today and see if I can take a picture of that little guy since they hadn’t brought it in yet. This really disheartens me. Volunteers also said they walked by and found cats caged up without food or water and a dead cat was just laying out in the open…ridiculous.

    Melissa - Yeah, I know.

Kari - I really feel that this assignment helped me get back that feeling of why I do what I do. I feel like it has been too long and too many features.

Really nice picture Will. It really gets to how abused animals are often faceless, anonymous creatures that no one cares about. But they still hurt.

Also, Happy Thanksgiving buddy. Hope you have a good one.
