Housing Vouchers

I was shocked when I got a call to start early for this assignment. People were lining up to try and receive section eight housing at the Park Forest Police Department. I was shocked even more at the number of people waiting in line. It was all the way around the block. Only two hundred and fifty people were able to apply for a lottery and then only fifty would be picked. It was like Black Friday, but instead of Christmas gifts it was for a roof over their heads. Some were sad and others were hopeful.
