I got to cover the Bear as they beat the Viking 39-10. Had a blast, but winter is definitely on it’s way.

I’ve been wanting to play with the 100mm macro lens for a while now. I thought that details of some fall colors would be fun to shoot.

I got to photograph this past Bears home game as they battled their rivals, the Green Bay Packers. The Bears lost 27-17, but I saw one of the greatest plays ever unfold that day. Too bad it was called back for a holding call. Let’s hope the season gets better.

I got to photograph movie director Rod Daniel in Traverse City, Mich. He was a really nice guy and it was a pleasure to photograph him. He also directed one of my favorite movies when I was a kid, “Teen Wolf”.

On my day off I went out to explore northern Indiana. On our way through Gary we saw thick smoke in the distance. As we got closer we realized their was a garage fire completely engulfed.

I few months back I photographed a brave little girl going through stage four neuroblastoma. Her name was Kya Simpson-Freeman. At the time of the story she was four, but she just celebrated her fifth birthday. A couple of weeks ago I got the unfortunate news. After over a year of painful procedures, tumultuous days, and sickening chemotherapies, she passed away.
She and her mother, Debra, had a special bond that I got to see first hand. They were one another’s rocks. Kya being the only child and Debra being a single mother made those bonds tighten. Seeing the love they shared was truly one for those moments as a photographer you will never forget.
Please pray for Debra and her family and all the doctors and nurses that cared for her.

I got to cover the Blackhawks training camp at the United Center this weekend. It’s amazing that they can fill the stands for a practice. Here are a few I liked from the day.
