Thank You

I’ve been in Dallas at the Morning News for almost six months now. I’ve grown so much here. Not only have I become a better shooter, but I’ve also learned video. It’s been an amazing experience that I will always treasure. Thanks to the staff and the photo editors for giving me such an amazing opportunity to come and work among one of the best newspaper staffs in the country. I will miss all of you.

Old Flames

I haven’t been shooting stills too much at work. I’m learning video now, but thought I’d post two old ones. One is a friend from school. The other was recently bumped out of my portfolio. It’s probably one of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken. Everybody tells me that something is missing from it, but I think that’s why I like it. Here they are…

Dart is hoping the train will be up and running by the end of the day. Only the Corinth Street stop was affected.

I always find it amazing when we as photographers, journalists, etc. walk into situations such as this one and are thanked for coming. I think that most of the time we are seen as an enemy or exploiting the suffering, but we (in my mind) are just trying to show what injustices have been done.
CAPTION: Family, friends, and neighbors prayed Thursday around Jade Butcher, of Arlington, whose father, Rodrick Butcher, was fatally shot June 9 in DeSoto, Texas as three people were trying to steal his Chevy pickup.
The Wackness

Director Jonathan Levine (left) and actor Josh Peck came to Dallas to promote their new movie “The Wackness”. It was one of those quick hit deals where they try to get you in and out. Both were extremely nice though and I definitely wanna see the movie.

On Sunday temperatures reached 101 degrees. The warmest day yet. I can’t believe how hot it is here. Here’s a feature I found.
Indy Cars and Dare Devils

I covered the Bombardier Learjet 550k at Texas Motor Speedway last night. I’ve shot nascar before, but this was tough to shoot. They’re faster and less likely to get in a wreck so you gotta be ready for anything at any time. I got the one bad wreck at the end. Both drivers walked away and were fine. I also got to witness Robbie Knievel jump 21 hummers before the race started…It was pretty awesome.
