Becoming a Monk

I got to photograph the first day of a two day ceremony where seven men became ordained as Buddhist monks through the Burmese Buddhist Association of Chicago. Everyone was so kind and willing to share their stories with me. It was truly fascinating and I am so glad I got to be on hand for the celebration.

Bears vs. Packers

I got to spend Christmas evening at Lambeau Field for the first time covering the Packers and the Bears. Even though the Bears lost 35-21 I still had an amazing time. I loved the stadium and the fans. There really isn’t another place quite like it. Here’s some from the game.

Football State Championships

I got to cover the 1A all the way through 8A High School Football Championships in Champaign, Ill. It was eight games in two days. The second day it rained for two and a half games. I may have killed a camera in the process. It was a lot of shooting and a lot of hard work, but a fun time. Here are a few of my faves.

It was a wet and windy day here in Chicago. This made for dangerous conditions on Lake Michigan. High waves shut down part of the bike path on the north side.
